1.What is the Admission Procedure?
You can download the application form from the website. Read the instructions carefully before filling in the application form. State clearly on the form the title of the course and start dates/year and when you wish to join. The completed application form must be sent with copies of all relevant certificates, passport size photographs and registration fee. An application form sent without these will not be processed.

2. What is the International Admission Process?
After the admissions department receives your completed application form, it will be evaluated and processed for an admission. A letter of acceptance will be sent if the you are granted an admission into the course you requested for. A place on the course will be confirmed subject to the payment of tuition fee in full or in installments and the conditions of which will be stated in the letter. The acceptance letter also gives an estimate of the cost of maintenance per year for all international students.
Upon the receipt of the full or first installment fee, the college issues a letter of enrolment to international students, which confirms your place in the course. A Visa letter is issued only after the required fees are paid.

3. When are the Start Dates?
You can apply for an admission into any course in LCR any time of the year. You should aim to arrive in UK before the commencement date. There will be an orientation and familiarisation programme, which will help you to settle down with us. If you are not in a position to arrive in UK before the commencement date, you must inform the college with the reasons and obtain a letter of ‘extension’ from the college.

4. What is the Attendance Policy?
As per the Home Office regulations, all international students are required to attend a minimum of 15 to 18 hours of study per week. It is student’s responsibility to attend classes regularly, to be punctual, keep work up to date and to complete assignments as required. Grades are based largely on completed assignments, tests and class participation. Failure to meet these expectations may result in failure in the course or program.

5. Does the College Arrange Accommodation?
The college may arrange, accommodation for the students upon receiving a written request. Accommodation may be reserved with host family or hostels within reasonable distance from the college. Weekly rent for this type of accommodation may range from GBP 45 to 70 per week. Overseas students are recommended to reserve accommodation for an initial period of 4 weeks, after which they may extend the contract, or opt for alternative arrangements. For accommodation to be arranged by the college, students must send a request letter four weeks in advance for accommodation and four weeks rent in advance (approximately GBP 200, any excess amount will be refunded to students.

6.Does the College have an Airport Meeting Service?

LCR may arrange for one of the representatives to receive you upon arrival to the United Kingdom. However it is the responsibility of the student to let us know in advance of at least 48 hours prior to the arrival. This is to ensure that proper arrangements are made to receive you and help reach your destination in London. This pickup service is available at the cost of GBP 50.00. The charge for pick up may vary depending on the waiting period, and cab services. Alternatively students can request the college to advise on the cab service, which can be hired direct from Airport for cost effectiveness. This will not include receiving the student.

7. What are the Immigration and visa formalities at airport?
When you first enter the country, make sure that you have the student guide, your original admission/enrolment/offer letter and the address of the where you are going to be. Your passport will be stamped at immigration department within the airport. In the unlikely event that there are problems or difficulties at this stage and you need some urgent advice and help, contact the college. Students are advised to cooperate with immigration authorities and answer all their queries. LCR does not bear any responsibility towards the students who have not paid the tuition fee. All overseas students must inform the college their travel dates well in advance.

8. What about Healthcare?

Overseas students enrolled on courses for more than six months are entitled to free medical care and hospital treatment through National Health Service (NHS) in UK. All students must register with a local GP and college will provide you guidance and/or a supporting letter for registration.

9. Can I get Career Advice?

As an international student, pursuing employment can be challenging. In addition to providing useful information concerning job search strategies, Students are given advice on their courses and career options by specialists in respective fields.

10. Is there an option for Part-Time Employment?

Full-time overseas students are allowed to work up to 20 hours a week and more than 20 hours during term holidays and vacations. The college provides advice on how to approach the job agencies and issue the letter of support to students and employers.

11. Is there an English Language Support programme?

English courses are available for students who need it. English programme is run concurrently or consequently after the main course. There will be a charge for the course, if it becomes mandatory for students to enrol in English course, subsequent to a low or no IELTS score.

12. Does the college have Library & Internet facilities?

The college premises is equipped with a library, books can be used for reference within the Campus. Students are advised to become members with national or private libraries. Free computer access with Internet facility is provided to all students. The college is equipped with computer labs especially designed for student access.

13. A Student Hand Book? What is that?
The purpose of a Student handbook is to provide students with important information on Student code of conduct, Safety Standards, Travel Concessions, Employee and public liability, Academic letters, Rules and regulations, Student rights, responsibilities, attendance and other resourceful information needed in order to start your course and career with us. Student Handbooks are available upon request on campus. Handbooks are given on the day of the induction.

14. I need information on Course Change and Extensions and Exemptions?

Courses may not be extended or changed four weeks after commencing. Only under exceptional circumstances, the college may consider the request for a change of course, if there is a proven validity in the given explanation. However, there will be a nominal charge for the changes.
Changes can be made to a course of a higher level or of the same capacity. Fee will not be refunded, if change is made to a lesser level or to a lower priced course.
Exemptions into courses are subject to the acceptance from the respective professional/awarding body. In an event when a student is not granted an exemption, they must pay the excess fee and enrol in the prerequisite to meet the requirements of the course enrolled in.

15. Does the college offer Scholar ships?
College offers scholarships to eligible students. Student Attendance, performance, and academic standing will be subject to evaluation during the first semester. It is at the discretion of the college to choose appropriate persons who meet the criteria set by the administration for scholarships.

16. What are Visa Requirements and what is a Visa Interview?

Many overseas students will need a valid visa in order to study in United Kingdom. Overseas students are categorized as visa nationals and non-visa nationals. For most non-visa nationals, student visa is issued at port of entry in UK, but visa nationals must obtain the visa to enter United Kingdom. If you do not know whether you will require a visa or not, please visit or enquire in local British Embassy, British Consulates, British Council or British High Commission.
